Your account

Your account is who you are on Notefix: your name, your email address, and the projects you are in. There is no password, then or ever.

Open it from the round button with your initials, at the top of every dashboard page.

Signing in#

Every way to sign in leads to the same account, as long as it is the same email address:

Continue with Googleyour Google account's email address
Continue with GitHubyour GitHub account's primary email address
Email me a linkthe address you type. The link works once, for 15 minutes, and the same email carries a code you can type instead

The first time you sign in with an address, the account is made. With Google or GitHub, your name comes from there; with a link, Notefix asks for it.

A link only signs in the browser that opens it, and email does not always open where you are working: the address is on your phone, or your mail app opens a different browser. So every sign-in email also carries a six-character code, and the page waiting for you has a box to type it in. The code does the same job as the link, in the window that asked for it, and each works once in the same 15 minutes.

Your name#

Your name goes on every note you leave. Change it on your account page and press Save.

Where you are signed in#

Your account page lists every browser signed in to the dashboard, and every site where you signed in with Notefix, with when each was last used.

Delete your account#

Delete your account, at the bottom of your account page, opens a page that says exactly what will happen, before anything does. Nothing is deleted until you type your email address and press the button.

What is deleted#

What is not deleted#

Careful

Deleting cannot be undone, and nobody at Notefix can bring an account or its projects back.

Signing in again later with the same address makes a new, empty account.
